The project

WOW Hotel Manager is a cloud-based PMS (Property Management System) designed for the management of hospitality facilities such as hotels and B&Bs. The software enables the handling of all key functionalities required for effective operations in the sector, such as booking, customer and room management, invoicing, accounting, and more. The system can be integrated into the property’s website and is capable of managing the most commonly used online travel agency (OTA) booking platforms.

The challenge

The project originated from the vision of stakeholders in the hospitality sector to develop management software that prioritizes usability and well-designed graphical interfaces: areas often lacking in competing products.

Structurally, the main challenge was to design an architecture capable of flexibly and dynamically managing operational workflows arising from the diverse needs of hospitality facilities. Additionally, the architecture was revised multiple times to ensure the software remained adaptable and could be integrated with various external booking platforms.

The approach

The software is a field-designed product. Participatory and co-creation methodologies were used to analyze operational workflows, data management, and user interfaces. Based on project needs, wireframes and graphic prototypes were developed in collaboration with another company based in Trentino.
The project followed a hybrid development lifecycle, initially using a waterfall model to build a basic MVP (Minimum Viable Product), and later incorporating additional components and features through Agile methodologies.

Results

The result is a scalable, cloud-based PMS software that is both user-friendly and visually appealing, capable of managing any type of hospitality facility accurately and efficiently.

The software is currently in beta testing, being tested in active facilities alongside other management systems. It will be released and marketed once we are fully satisfied with the final outcome.
