The on-site training<\/span><\/h3>\n

From <\/span>\u00a012 to 14 October 2021<\/b>, the first <\/span>training <\/b>of the project <\/span>INTenSE – Improving demeNtia care Through Self-Experience<\/b> took place at <\/span>Dublin City University,<\/b> in Dublin. After a year of meetings and online activities due to Covid-19, the project <\/span>partners <\/b>for the first time met in person. In addition to the partnership members, a number of <\/span>healthcare workers<\/b> who care for people with dementia were involved in the initiative.<\/span><\/p>\n

The project<\/span><\/h3>\n

The main aim of the<\/span> Erasmus+ INTenSE<\/b> project is to <\/span>train<\/b> healthcare professionals to improve their care for people with dementia.\u00a0 Through self-experience techniques, i.e. simulation of conditions and symptoms of people with dementia, the goal is to increase the <\/span>empathy <\/b>of professionals.\u00a0 During the training, participants tested different <\/span>self-experience<\/b> technologies <\/b>such as VR glasses, Virtual Dementia Tour (VDT) and serious games, and\u00a0 <\/span>techniques<\/b>, such as role play and drama workshop, to evaluate their effectiveness.<\/span><\/p>\n

The first Intellectual Output<\/span><\/h3>\n

In the last months, we have achieved the first <\/span>results <\/b>necessary for the creation of subsequent project outputs. An accurate <\/span>scientific research<\/b> was conducted (scoping review) and direct <\/span>witnesses<\/b> of professionals were collected (through focus groups) regarding the knowledge of self-experience techniques. This has contributed to the creation of an <\/span>e-booklet<\/b> (Intellectual Output 1), i.e. the collection in digital format of these previous results.<\/span><\/p>\n

The training activities<\/span><\/h3>\n

During this experience, participants had the opportunity to discuss, confront each other, interact and try out technologies and self-experience techniques. The program of the three days, was divided into<\/span> 5 different topics<\/b>:<\/span><\/p>\n
