{"id":53417,"date":"2019-11-12T10:50:28","date_gmt":"2019-11-12T09:50:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.socialit.it\/news-ed-eventi\/best-presentation-award-at-the-innodoct-conference\/"},"modified":"2025-09-02T11:54:24","modified_gmt":"2025-09-02T09:54:24","slug":"best-presentation-award-at-the-innodoct-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.socialit.it\/en\/news-and-events\/best-presentation-award-at-the-innodoct-conference\/","title":{"rendered":"Best Presentation Award at the INNODOCT conference"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The partners of the European project Erasmus + MIND INCLUSION 2.0 submitted a paper for the\u00a0<span style=\"color: #43a0e4;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #43a0e4;\" title=\"Apre in una nuova finestra\" href=\"http:\/\/www.innodoct.org\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>International Conference on Innovation, Documentation and Education \u2013 INNODOCT 2019<\/em><\/a><\/strong><\/span> which was held in Valencia from 6 to 8 November 2019.<\/p>\n<p>The paper entitled &#8220;<strong>Accessible co-creation tools for people with intellectual disabilities: working for and with end-users<\/strong>&#8221; received the <strong>BEST PRESENTATION award<\/strong>.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Congratulations to all the partners who contributed to the paper!<\/h4>\n<p>Rosa Almeida, Raquel Losada Dura\u0301n, Teresa Cid Bartolome\u0301, Andrea Giaretta, Alice Segalina, Anna Bessegato, Simone Visentin, Sandra Marti\u0301nez-Molina, Jorge Garce\u0301s, Valentina Conotter, Davide Lissoni, Dana Migaliova, Natalija Ole\u0307sova, Aidas Gudavic\u030cius, Miguel Lancho<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Here you can read\u00a0the abstract of the paper.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 1\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 1\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<h4>Abstract<\/h4>\n<p>In a world defined by rapid change, the\u00a0<strong>search for solutions to societal challenges<\/strong>\u00a0has become more complex calling for new paradigms of innovation focused on collaborations with the community and users.\u00a0<strong>Co-creation approaches<\/strong>\u00a0in the design and production of a service or product can bring low-cost innovation and unique and\u00a0<strong>personalized customer experiences<\/strong>\u00a0leading to user acceptance of a product or service.<\/p>\n<p>Under a co-creation perspective, the\u00a0<strong>participatory approach developed in the MIND INCLUSION\u00a0project<\/strong>\u00a0aims to improve the inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities into public places and society by using a co-created online tool based on personal experiences of people with disabilities. Paying special attention to the Design thinking method,\u00a0<strong>the main goal of this experience was to co-create cognitive accessible design tools that guide the collection of users and other stakeholders experiences in the process of defining problems and solutions<\/strong>. To this end, 14 researchers and educators worked defining together a set of guiding exercises and design thinking methods for the 4 co-design cycles.<\/p>\n<p>As a result two tools were developed to gather information to recreate as a final output \u201cpersonas scenarios\u201d, an \u201cempathy map\u201d and expected \u201cuse scenarios\u201d. The former was an adapted game board about public places based on the traditional monopoly game and the latter a diary with a set of activities that will facilitate the collection of contextual information.<\/p>\n<p>Previous experiences have shown that co-design process can promote greater social cohesion, acceptance and empowerment. Working with people with intellectual disability presents several challenges since the co-creation process needs to be cognitive accessible.
